The Coalition is nationally recognized for its evaluation and rating
program, KIDS FIRST!®, which offers guidance for
parents, teachers, kids, and others who are seeking out good children's
media. KIDS FIRST!® evaluates, endorses, and rates
children's feature films, videotapes, DVDs, audio recordings, software,
and television programs using volunteer adult and child evaluators who
are trained in our Junior Film Critics program. More than 3300 adults
and children participate as evaluators. Every title endorsed by KIDS
FIRST!® is adult approved and child recommended. To earn
the approval of the adults, it must meet or exceed our base-line criteria
(see link). To earn a children's recommendation, it must be recommended
by the majority of children who evaluate it.
