Very well done. Very poignant tale about pioneer life and family love. Good discussion starter about human relationships. Although it deals with some difficult issues, it is not graphic. It offers a realistic look at pioneer life. It may be a too difficult to watch if a child has recently had a death in his or her family. The main characters are all Anglos and one, with Downs syndrome, is treated with respect by the community.

They brought her a boy who needed parents and the Mom treated hiim badly at first. The Mom didn't know what boys were like. He wasn't trying to be bad but she didn't understand that. In the end, she liked him." "I liked the piano music."
