Let Mister Rogers help your kids get ready for the new school year. He encourages children to talk about what they might be thinking and feeling as they prepare for the new experiences that come with the beginning of the school year.

KIDS FIRST!™ Adult Juror Comments:

Great for preparing children for school. Mister Rogers made his imprint on children through this wonderful series that was one of the first to acknowledge and deal with children's feelings. His quiet and deliberate demeanor appeals to many and not to some. He explains concepts in detail and taps into really important details such as why school busses make loud noices when they brake. He is careful to remind viewers that he is their TV friend and teacher, not a live teacher they can interact with.

KIDS FIRST!™ KID Juror Comments:

Kids love all the different aspects of the show, the train in Mister Rogers house, the costume on the trolley to make it look like a school bus.

This title is one of Ranny's Picks!
"I met Mister Rogers twice and he was the same in person as he is on TV - thoughtful, insightful, and down to earth. I once heard a story of how a streetsweeper stopped traffic in Harlem when Mister Rogers stepped out of the subway onto the street. The driver recognized him and jumped down to shake his hand and tell him how important he was in his little boy's life."
